I bet elves don't like winter...their ears probably get waayyy colder than mine. v_v Cause they're pointy and stuff. Hhmm, maybe they put a spell on their ears to keep them warm?
Dad's out of town for the weekend. He's camping, believe it or not. xD I'm not even sure where they went. <_< One of his friends has a cabin, maybe they went up there.... Anyway. So what does my mom want to do while the two (technically 3) of us have the house to ourselves? Chick flicks? Scrapbooking? Uh-uh. Jackie Chan movie marathon. V_V
I have the best mom ever. xD
So yeah, last night we watched Supercop, and tonight is the Medallion. >=)
At youth group a few nights ago Pastor Dave (we call him PD) talked about growing in God and following his voice. He said that if your view of God isn't changing or if you're not learning more from Him, you're not growing. Or... well it was something along those lines. <_< But I've been realizing that lately. You shouldn't read your Bible just because you're supposed to... but because it helps you combat the world around you. That book is... wow! The wisdom from it just never ends! It's crazy! @_@ ="D It's like a charger, for my worn-out batteries. I have to keep going back to it to see what God has for me. And the more that happens, the more I want to read it.
I'm on the second to last chapter in Crazy Love now.... and it's honestly one of the best books I've ever read in my life. I would SERIOUSLY recommend that everyone would read it. It's awesome.
Anyway.
In the book he talks about how quickly we get amnesia for what God has done in our lives.... no matter how close we are, if we don't keep cultivating our relationship with God, it fades away. It withers and dies. And just in the past few weeks I've fallen so many times, back into the world and away from Him... and I have to keep coming back and asking for His forgiveness. Now I think I'm beginning to understand all those songs I've heard over the years about God's grace. Because I, the stupid, puny human that I am, keep falling and failing, despite His goodness. And yet He still loves me just as much as He ever did, and He always take me back. It's truly humbling. *finds one of my notes I took the other day*
A person who is obsessed with Jesus knows that the best thing he can do is be faithful to His savior in every aspect of his life, continually saying, "Thank You!" to God. An obsessed person knows there can never be intimacy if he is always trying to pay God back or work hard enough to be worthy. He revels in his role as a child and friend of God.
So there's nothing I can ever do to repay God for his Love and Mercy (we're not supposed to anyway, because it's a gift), so the very very least we can do is live for Him in every aspect of our life, with every fiber of our being. When our lives belong to Him, we're in the best place we could ever be. Next to Heaven, that is. ;) Easier said than done, but it's something worth working and striving for.
I found this song by Satellites & Sirens a few years ago.... and I really really liked it back then, but I've been listening to it again recently. The first verse and chorus goes like this:
I walked away, from You
All just to say, "I choose".
And my mistake, just proves
That I can't live a day, without You.
You're the only good
You're the only light
In this world of darkness
I call life
Will you take me back
Will you take me home?
Show me where you're at,
That's the way that I'll go.
Will you hold me tight,
Never let me go?
Will you save my life,
Will you make it so?
So yeah, I've been finding and relating to the significance of that song. ^_^ It's a beautiful story; the perfect love song. He will always take me back, He will hold me tight, never letting go. He will always save my life. He will make it so.
