Another late-night summary of my day

Today was the last workday in which Lincoln County Library had the privilege of having Sarah Daviau, my supervisor. She's embarking on the long car ride to Virginia in the morning, to the new library she transferred to. ^_^ It's what she was training for, after all. She spent 5 years here in Libby, and now gets to transfer to (I assume) I higher position, at a place closer to home. Since her family's in New York. But not to worry! >=D I burned her a CD of all my Chameleon Circuit Songs to keep her company. That's an epic Doctor Who tribute band, for you non-geeks. v_v lol Oh and tonight she sent me this email for a doctor who shirt.
*Hopes no one has to squint to see it*
I don't think I realized how much I'm going to miss her awesome geekiness until today...
Today she told me "Well just to let you know, you are my favorite page we've ever had. ;D You have awesome people skills. And we really appreciate that about you. And if you're even in the D.C. area drop me a call and  I'll give you a tour around! And if you ever need a reference letter too let me know." But you'd have to hear her say it in her Sarahish manner. Just makes it funnier. ;D
So yeah, that was sweet. ^_^ It's really nice to hear.
Then she said to tell Mom bye for her too, cause my mom is her dental hygienist. xD
Mom used to tell me, "I love Sarah! She's so tiny, but so confident and funny and professional!" Yeah, I guess that describes her... tiny, but mighty. Professional, but HIGHLY capable of sarcasm. v_v
So yeah, we said our goodbyes, she and her mom got in their car, then Sarah pops back out, holding a little round pillow. "Oh hey does anybody want this?" It's an iDream- A pillow that has speakers for your iPod. <_< I took it. x) Apparently she got it as a gift but her head was too small for it. <.< But I guess it fits mine just fine...
Anyway. xD Funny.

What was I going to write about next? Ah yes.
I've accepted a fitness challenge! >=D It's called the Healthy Habits Fitness Challenge, put on by the Athletic Club. It comes in three phases, each a two-week segment. The first phase is setting a goal for steps (with a pedometer) each day, and drinking six glasses of water a day. A point is awarded for each day of achieving your step goal, and another for drinking the amount of water. The recommended step goal for active adults is 10,000 steps a day, so I'll go with that. And I've actually been counting my daily water intake, anyway. 9 glasses today, 10 yesterday, and 6 the two days before that. ^_^ So I don't think the first phase should be a problem.
Phase two- 150 minutes of cardio a week (two points I think), and eating 5 servings of fruit and/or veggies a day (one point per day). Doing the math I should do about 25 minutes of cardio a day, and be able to take Sundays off. I do 25 minutes on the Nordic Track on the mornings that I have extra time anyway. ^_^ And the fruits and veggies thing will be good. I think I eat too many grains and not enough fresh stuff. >_> I've always been a bread girl...
Phase three- Two full-body strength training sessions a week -I'm really going to be looking forward to that one. >=) Two points. And a daily point eating breakfast every day, which I always do, or suffer the consequences of a migraine.
People who get a perfect score get a pair of Jox Sox. Which I think are just wicking socks that keep your feet from sweating. And all participants are entered into a drawing for a free membership! But I think it'll be a good challenge for myself, even if I don't win anything. I'd like to prove to myself I can do it. Oh and Mom decided to do it too... And Dad said "Uh.... sure!" So I guess that's all the Elliotts in it, then. xD The challenge starts on Monday. My last day of being 16. ^_^ <_< Scary...
*Needs to have Dad run the forms in to the Athletic club when he goes to town tomorrow*

lol, he forgot to pick me up from work today... xD Six O'clock, Mom calls my cell phone, saying Dad came home (which is a 15-minute drive):
Mom: Hi! Did you remember to get Rachel?
Dad: o.o No... *goes back out door*
Not the first time this has happened. v_V Once, Mom was taking a bunch of other homschool kids home from an Awana event and drove off, feeling good that she had all the kids in the car.... except hers.....
She came back eventually. xD

Our black lab Jazzi isn't doing so hot. =/ Today the vet said she has very severe diabetes, and has three legs in the grave... No telling how long she'll last. It's so weird though- like she just suddenly aged over the last week! Not even a month ago she was healthy as ever.... ah well. That's life I suppose. She's just getting old... it happens. We'll see how long she can make it. Mom and Dad agree it'd be better for her to go, while she's at home, with us. Where she knows she's loved. ^_^

As my dear Jamie always concludes her posts.....

Farewell....

Aw...that's sad about Jazzi. Last time I saw her she was doing fine! How are you doing?

Yeah she just started going downhill really fast! It's like she aged so much just in the past few weeks. But she's not eating anything, so Mom and Dad say that if she doesn't go over the weekend, we're going to have to put her down. =/ It's all right, I suppose.... she's pretty old.. and I don't want her to have to go through more pain than she has to. =/
