The main area where we'll be located is La Ceiba and Rio Viejo, I believe. One week we're at the school, and the second at the orphanage. Our main objective is just to minister to the kids there and help out in any way we can. There will be lots of work projects around the area for us to do, which we'll juggle between helping with the kids.
The kids at the school range in age from 1st-2nd grade to in their twenties. They have classes on Science, math, English (the language, not the literature) and art, where I've been assigned to help! =) Last week we experimented with science and art projects to do with the kids, which I'm really excited for.
This weekend our class has experienced such a move of God and a vision for what He is going to do while we're in Honduras. Lives are going to be changed, and broken hearts healed! He's going to shine His Glory in Honduras, and we get to be there to see it! I feel like our class has already started to become more unified with excitement and vision for what God can really do, and we're only going to become closer in it as this year continues.
I guess my Montanan upbringing carried with me.... While most everyone's check-in bags for the airport was at or above the 50-lb. weight limit, mine was the smallest and weighted 24 lbs. I wasn't even trying. O_o They're actually planning on using my check-in as a carry-on which, long story short, enables them to bring more supplies for the school on the plane.
So this is my last day of rest before the crazy awesome starts. We step on that plane tonight and it all goes insane. Two and a half weeks in Honduras, Tearing Down Strongholds conference a few days after we get back, spring break, then straight into six weeks of ministering on roadtrip.
Two sure things at GL:
1) You will never get bored
2) If you're open to what God is doing, you'll never be the same.
I have no form of communication while in Honduras (the humidity eats electronics), but will try to update when I get back. Such great, God-things are happening already and are just going to keep increasing. Please pray for safe travels for all of us, no complications, and for us to be open to everything God has and to shine His Glory!
