When we landed in Honduras, we took a 5-hour bus ride up the mountain to the Give Hope 2 Kids orphanage. We stayed there for a week doing work projects, swimming/showering/doing laundry in the river, and having fun playing with the some 20 kids. There were several villages close nearby up and down the mountain, so we went to churches there and held ministry services a few times throughout the week. There were a couple little girls who I danced with at the end of a service while everyone was worshiping; they came to the other services after that and pulled me aside to dance with them every time.
We also got to slaughter a couple pigs... then cook them for lunch..... That was an experience.
The second week, we stayed and ministered at Instituto El Rey, a Christian school on the same mountain that has ranked as one of the tops schools in the nation of Honduras. I helped in the art class, but the music teacher found out I played guitar and recruited me to teach a her more advanced students in her class!
At the end of the trip, we were blessed to have a day to relax and play at the ocean.

All around it was a great trip where we got to be a blessing and see God work in the lives of the Honduran people who truly have a hunger for their loving Father. I got to see that He doesn't just speak English. ;) God used the trials and blessings of these two weeks to work through some things in my heart as I'm discovering more of who I am in Him.
