The Secret Garden
Dad's gifts to us are like fruit trees that He plants, tends and cultivates just for us. They are his; but they are ours. There is a faith tree, a joy tree, a patience tree, a healing tree, maybe even a prophetic or spiritual insight tree.... yeah, definitely one of those...
He loves walking through the garden with us, taking us from tree to tree, picking off a fruit and giving it to us to enjoy. It's good, and it nourishes.
See, it's His fruit. But it just as much belongs to his sons and daughters. He just likes picking the perfect piece of fruit, pristinely ripe and round, up on that branch that is just too high for us to reach, grabbing and caringly placing it in our hands. Oh, she's going to love this one.
Now, that whole tree is ours. The whole tree and all its fruit. That, and every tree and every fruit in the entire garden belongs to us.
When I imagine God and me in a garden, I usually see it with boundaries. A fence on this side, a desert or a city on that side. Maybe the garden is a whole island.... an island can be big, right?
But the Garden is limitless. The trees full of good things God has for us are limitless. The rows of blessing trees literally go far beyond what your eyes can see, forever and ever. There is limitless healing that is yours. There is never-ending trust for Him that is yours! It literally already belongs to you; how much of it you physically possess and intake depends on how much time you spend in that Garden that is just yours and God's, and ask him to give you a piece. Each time that God gives you more faith, that is a single fruit off the never-ending supply he has planned for you to have. For you you eat.
And that's not just wishful thinking - you will one day possess all that your Dad is SO excited to grab for you. You already have access to it, after all. It belongs to both of you equally, and sharing in it only brings the two of you closer together. Just to continually meet him in that Garden every day. He won't force you; he doesn't guilt. But he waits for you there at the gate every day, only because he simply cannot wait to give you more to taste.

Great stuff, Rachel :) So thankful that He has given you this vision! Very encouraging on this Good Friday!
This is beautiful. Thought-provoking, which is even better, and inspired, which is the best! It's so encouraging to hear our Father through what He's teaching you!
